On the
23th July 2008, my school had our prize giving day. Our school prize giving day is not like your usual prize giving ceremony. It's kinda
grander and more
joyous because everyone would be there to cheer you on as you get your prize in the great, giant hall:
North Hall.
I was going to get my CAS Award today. I had a tiring time getting it but it was all worth it. For one week, I had to run about to get signatures from the teachers of my activities as proof in my CAS book. I had to run around with my broken ankle and you should know how hard and painful that is......So, when my book was approved of getting an award, I "jumped" with glee. Just an expression because you know I can't do that.
Before the ceremony, there was a procession where all the school staff, teachers, prefects and scholars were holding candles and walking towards the stage through the hall. After, the school song, Datin Freida gave her welcoming speech to the parents and then the prize giving began.
Many students got awards too. There was prizes for the top tenth percentage students, PMR 7 & 8 A's, School colours, Academic colours and so on. Many parents came to watch their kids go up on stage to receive their prize and there was flashes coming from every direction of the hall as they snap on their cameras. Datin Freida and Dr. Rizal were invited to present the awards to the students.
Although it was tiring for us prefects, the prize giving turned out to be successful and everyone was happy.
